This exquisite pair of recumbent lions, presumed to be carved from Verona marble, specifically Rosso Verona, will make an extraordinary statement in any home or garden. Likely dating to the 13th century, these lions exemplify the rich architectural traditions of 11th-13th century Italy, where pairs of recumbent lions often served as symbolic and functional elements in cathedral porticos, supporting columns or framing sacred spaces.
