Reclaimed Hand Carved Sandstone Semicircular Masonry Arch

Five separate stones form the arch. One keystone and four voussoirs. The arch forms a semicircle with a stepped moulding detail running along the intrados. The mounding ends with a stop chamfer detail just before the bottom of the curve above the springing line, suggesting it would have sat atop vertical columns or imposts when originally installed.

The surface shows natural weathering and original tooling marks. The chisel lines remain visible, and the joints sit tight. The keystone sits deep and slightly tapered. Hand carved geometric detail draws focus to the centre. Late nineteenth century with Neo Gothic influence. Excellent reclaimed condition with light age wear. Dry laid for display and ready for professional installation.
