A substantial rustic Pig bench dating from the 18th C. A thick single plank tapered to one end, raised on three simple legs.

Originally, this type of bench would have been used in an agricultural setting for the gruesome task of cutting up a slaughtered pig prior to hanging and curing. A utilitarian item of simple construction, that has seen a great deal of use given its heavily scared surface and cuts to the edges. This particular bench appears to have been repurposed as an industrial or workshop bench at some point, which only adds to the patina.
